I found this site

Options
:j I found this site a few weeks ago, went through all the usual things "I have been a mug" bla bla.
I then bought martins book and because I was so caught up in this site I idn't read it(I didnt have time) Then one night last week I just could not sleep as I was thinking of ways to cut back etc and I got up, made myself a cuppa and started reading "THE BOOK".
This was about 12.40 ish .
By the time I had finished I had about 30 pages left to read.
It was ten to six am and I was starting work at 7.
Do you know I always thought I was a clued up person but my god I havn't a clue
My husband had a wobbler today because I have been nagging him to inform himself about our finances and to learn from our mistakes , he thinks that everyone is as honest as he is, he works in the building trade.
I have been been telling him to keep all his receipts and tell me when he has paid for something etc.

This is hard for him as I was the one who managed all our finances until the kids were old enough 10 ish and then I got a job (14 yrs now)
I really landed him in it as he had never dealt with banks or anything financial.

This morning we had a parcel delivery from amazon, I have bought 3 copies of martins book to give to my kids and I am going to tell them make me a promise that if you never again read another book
please read this one!!!!.
I have wasted so much money over the years it brings tears to my eyes.

I wanted them to read this now and I know most msrs would think I could have given them my copy, but it is mine!!
I want it for reference and depend on it to keep me strong and would be really p**d off I didn't have it near when I need it.

Thank you martin for making my life bearable and my debts managable
:T

I do that too for my 20 year old but he asked me to do it when he started getting these "fantastic"offers.

I have bought at least 6 copies of Martin's books, one of each editon for me and the rest to give away to people who need it including my children, who I hope never need to follow all the advice, hopefully using the tips in the Money Diet will enable them to live within their earnings.:)

  • Thats a really good idea my children are 7,4 and 1 but the eldest is starting to learn he is very good and saves his pocket money up he has £50 so far I think thats quite an achievement.
I have always made them think the value of money etc(shame it did'nt rub off on me) hopefully I can bring them up to understand money fully ,even though my parents did there best they did'nt educate me my I think children need to be now a days.
I'm going to open them all bank accounts soon as they might as well be earning intrest on there pocket money then when I have sorted my money out I will open some more that i will put into for them every month that they don't know about for when they are older.
I wouldn't have been able to do this before.
