    Thanks. This is the 3rd company I have ordered a meter from for my hubby, hopefully he will get one from this company as the other 2 never sent one!

    Try Johnson and Johnson Lifescan. I got a free meter from them and they have sent me new meters as and when a new one comes to market. They provide free control solutions, batteries and also free record books.

    There Customer Services are really friendly and can be reached on 0800 121200.

    :T Thanks for this OP! Im type 1 diabetic and currently use the accu-chek aviva and have been looking around for another, so this would be a great upgrade. Accu-chek are brilliant, they supply you with free batteries etc etc. Hope im one of the 1000...

    :D
  • It might be a daft question but if we are not one of the first 1000 do we get charged?

    Abbott Diagnostics are very good too, I've had a couple of free meters from them - they usually offer them every time there's a new version.

    If you do get a new meter, make sure you get the GP to put the different strips on your repeat prescription!

    And if you don't get one from here, try your hospital. Your diabetes nurse or consultant can usually give you a free meter.

    Thanks for this, the backlit screen will be brilliant - if I wake up in the night and need to check my blood sugar at the moment, it's a case of trying to juggle the machine, the blood on my finger and shining my mobile phone on the screen!

    Edited to add I've had a confirmation email saying it will be sent when they have the stock, so looks like the 1000 limit hasn't yet been reached.
  • It looks like the offer is still valid, as I have just signed up for one. I like the idea of glow-in-the dark display!! Thanks, MSE!
    Blagged: free samples of handwash from Molton Brown; booklet of walks from Brecon Carreg;
    Free Diabetes monitor, free bee-friendly seeds, a MINI coin and a splash-proof book from Radox.:T
