Hang on a minute - don't know what has happened to property prices in the littoral but surely she has made a huge sterling gain on any capital she put in to the property?I think....0

I didn't state that 'this thread is pointless', I stated that I didn't understand its point, the two statements are quite different. I am waiting to be enlightened.
come on DD - stop messing about!!!
it's not about understanding and asking questions but it's about the Thanks that you get!!!
the more negative news that you post the more Thanks that people get.
so what you need to do in your real life is just tell people about bad news; tell them they're going to lose their job, their house is losing value (and tell them how much by - even if you don't know the area), if their bankrupt tell them it's their own fault and nobody elses.
what will then happen is everyone will be your buddy and give you loads of Thanks - just like on here!!0 -
I think Linda Barker is quite sexy0

No no no!
That's schadenfreunde, DD!
I hope everyone else takes note! :rotfl:0 -

You were playing the innocent but it came across as ignorant. I know you are intelligent enough to have made a comment on the article under the topic 'House Prices, the Economy & Recession' but chose - for whatever vague reason - not too.0 -
it's about another celebrity who is not doing well from her very nice rented villa - she's also disliked because she is linked to property and making money out of it, etc, etc, etc...
for some strange reason it gives some people great satisfaction and heals their anger to see other people not doing well. i don't understand this bit.
Isn't it more about showing that the so called property 'experts' actually don't know one end of a collateralised debt obligation from another, and that for all their BS, their knowledge basically amounts to 'pwoperty only goes up, innit'?'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -

Clearly, the fun never stops at Carolt's house...
Look for other such laugh riots as "Oh, you started a sentence without a capital letter!" and the equally riotously funny "Oh my God! Was that an incorrect useage of the semi-colon??"

carolt seems undecided whether spelling is important or not. She seemed to be mocking (yes.... mocking!) someone else here for actually having the nerve to point out incorrect spelling.Ah - so it did have a point.
Well, if it makes people happy to discuss spelling as a way of going 'la la la' with their fingers in their ears, then I can see it serves a very important need psychologically.
More discussion of spelling then, please!
Could we maybe split it into 2 threads? One for the 'la la la' types, and one for the 'let's actually talk about the really really scary issues'. Then everyone could be happy?
andIf you reread my post you'll see that I dealt - succinctly - with both threads - mentioning the utterly pointless drivel on spelling only to say how utterly irrelevant it was in the face of potential economic collapse.
Shocking hypocritical behaviour of the worst kind!0 -

I am so sad you are shocked.
Oh dear.
Still waiting for the definition of a schadenfreunde.
Something tells me I'm going to be waiting a long time.
Can't think why, as DD never, ever gets things wrong.0
