Hey everyone,
H2B and i have set a date, put a deposit down on photographer, cars, choco fountain, registra, venue and invitations paid for half of them and got my dress.
However, i am now worrying abotu the whole credit crunch thing. I am so scared that we wont be able to pay for it, and there are 'more important' things the money can go on. All i care about is being Mrs Pitcher.
But then i dont want to lose all the deposits etc
Is anyone else worried? I dont no what to do! I no i could do it for alot cheaper but that would mean cancelling the venue and photogrpaher (which would mean losing £900 deposits)

You only get married once so spoil yourself and enjoy your day. xx0/2013

How long have you got to ge before the wedding?
Do you have plenty time to save up more money?
I would say just keep saving for now, and make sure you are going to have a day to remember. You will know a little closer to the time if money is going to be a problem, no point in losing £900 if you don't need to.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Awwww, don't worry hun, I've had the exact same wobbles.
We've paid deposits on most things now - and I don't want to change venue etc and lose the deposits. You need to set yourself a realistic budget and stick to it. I know that our main costs are the venue and the photographer, so we know how much they cost. We can then look to cut costs on other bits such as flowers, accessories etc.
It does seem to be a depressing time to get married, but as long as you set a realistic budget that you know you can afford - you'll feel much better.
We briefly thought about postponing, but we've been saving so hard we want to get married as planned.
I'm going to 5 weddings this year (including my own) - recession/ What recession lol0 -
maybe we should rename this the wobbles thread i keep getting them now and again i must have popped into the bridal shop umpteen times over christmas but i have calmed down now.
can you really afford to lose £900? because im sure there will be some tough contracts you have signed so getting the money back will be hard.
cut back on costs from now on and you should be fine. Im making my own favour bags as the little boxes i like are going to total £60 all together thats £60 that can go towards something else!!:starmod:If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you:starmod:0 -
It is a worry, we are keeping costs down as much as possible but it will still be as lovely, making sure we put nothing on credit, having to stop expensive nights out for the next 8 months and cut back on luxurys but it will be worth it0

Yes, me too. The last few months have been a total panic of sleepness nights and churning stomachs!! We've booked the grandest hotel in our town which was then voted the best hotel in the country (which is lovely but they're not going to cut us any slack on discounts for cash, are they? lol) - if I had know then that we were heading for a recession, then I would have cut my cloth a lot more MSE-y!
BUT hopefully you only get married once (it's the second time for both of us) and it's going to be the most wonderful day of our lives so we're not changing our plans.
I feel a lot better since I borrowed a wodge of cash so that I know I can pay the immediate costs of the wedding - I'll worry about how to pay it back later LOL.0 -
heres a wobble for you...
I called the registras to see if we neede to make and appointment for a meeting as i would have to book it off work they couldnt put me through to my region so took my details of the ceremony and left a message and said they would get back to me asap!
I got a missed call while i was at work but they left an answer machine message "hello this is Pam calling from Accrington, unfortunately you havent provisionally booked with us for the 10th August 2009(it's 10th July) we havent received the correct paper work from you or notice of marriage before the 13 Jan 2009 therefore we have had to give that date to someone else!!!
to say i was mortified was an understatement... when i got through this morning they said the person who took my message was new and just put the wrong surname and date they have infact everything they need and we do have the registra!!
£10 that call cost too:mad::starmod:If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you:starmod:0
