Liteon dvd recorder with HDD

Saw it in Argos today

Doesn't look like it has a digital tuner but has 5.1 support. Has anyone bought one and would like to share their experiences ?

I havent got that but I do have the 5006. Despite recording stuff in widescreen format, recordings playback in 4.3 ratio instead of 16.9 widescreen. For a while now I wonder what the hell is causing it, it seems that when data is written it records a flag so upon playback the display thinks it was in 4.3 rather than 16.9.

I have managed to find a fix for it but is takes a few minutes work and need a pc to edit the dvd. Just thought I would warn you in case this also has the problem, I emailed Liteon and they never replied, I also have latest firmware. I think Liteon suck on CS support, and this is a major bug.

Sounds like an annoying bug, which isn't helped by their lack of support. I think I'll do some more research before taking the plunge.
