Well why did they all squeal like biaches then when Tescos wanted to do a fixed fee service? Why did they all yell that they wouldnt tolerate Tescos advertising on rightmove?

Why is there a monopoly whereby I cant advertise my property for a fixed fee on rightmove, as opposed to using less well known websites? I tell you why. Because the system is corrupt, its a monopoly and this correction is a great time for the whole industry to be revolutionized towards fixed fees and self-advertise.0 -
Fixed price selling has already been tried by Asda in the eighties.
They had estate agents in the stores, they were awful. We had a house with them for 12 months lots of viewers but no sale.
Changed to a normal estate agent house sold in six weeks.
Once they have your money there is no incentive to work at marketing the property if it sells ok if not never mind no loss.
The only incentive is to keep getting more houses to sell and more fixed fees.0 -
Well perhaps there should be a fixed time period in which to sell, after which you get the fee back.
And we didnt have righmove in the 80's. Doesnt excuse the disgraceful way in which NAEA acted when tescos tried to set up a much cheaper service does it?0 -
The OP refers to a film called Deliverance about a group of City dwellers spending a weekend rowing down a river which features a rather nasty anal rape scene towards the end with the rapist shouting "Squeal piggy, squeal" to his unfortunate victim.
I think the reference in the title of the thread is that Estate Agents will end up in a situation analogous to being anally raped by another man.
I've yet to be convinced that homosexual rape is a reasonable response to Estate Agentism.
That is disgusting. What is the OP thinking of when there could be children readint this.
MODS - can you please delete the referecens from teh OP.0 -

Yeah fair play, a huge corporation like Tescos would have done wonders for the Estate Agency business, they would prove you right wouldnt they..........

Quality you want to buy a house from Tesco. So what do they do to suppliers when they have a large enough monopoly, Oh I remember it involves an apple in the mouth.
I think some people are nuts I paid 1.25% to sell my house and they did so august last year in 6 weeks. Advertised and featured in the paper would tesco?0 -

.
Well, unless you have seen the film, you wouldnt understand the reference would you?
Tescos didnt last long because of the disgraceful monopolist behavior from the EA fraternity.Quality you want to buy a house from Tesco. So what do they do to suppliers when they have a large enough monopoly, Oh I remember it involves an apple in the mouth.
I actually would like a choice. If it was going to be come a death-knell for EAs, tehy would have to modify their business model to survive. Every other sector of the economy goes by this model, why should EAs have special treatment, especially as rightmove, the most well-known online property website does not allow personal adverts...0
