Mortgages

Hello
I am currently trying to increase the term of my Interest only Mortgage, but have been told as my husband is now 60yrs of age, that I cant increase the term of our joint mortgage.
I am only 40 and want to start making repayments to hopefully clear my debt by the time I am 60. I have had quotes which I cant afford, but would be able to if the term was increased from 10 years to 15.
What can I use to show my current lender I am viable to re pay over a longer term. I am the main bread winner and my husbands salary is nominal. We applied with a self assessed application, but I am now worried I wont be able to change my mortgage to an affordable repayment mortgage.
thanks
Mrs C

Natwest has a mortgage which will lend up until the age of 80 I think its a 4.79% fixed. Just put a 60 year old client on it.

There are several lenders that could look at this scneario for you - it will depend on the finer points of your circumstances though as to whether the lender will agree the case.
