Hi all
Sitting here last night working on my christmas lists. I already have all my presents which I ordered online and saved a bucket .
I started with stuff like Turkey , Stuffing , Pickle and so on. I got to thinking "this is going to cost a fortune" when it struck me that I should do an audit of the larder and drinks larder. needless to say , I have a load of pickles , stuffing . a jar of mince meat and stuff to make pastry. A christmas pudding still in date from last year. Loads of frozen food in freezer (peas , brussels etc.....). But the biggest amazemant was the drinks cupboard.
I drink wine a lot of wine (2 bottles a week) and go to wine tastings etc...... In my cupboard , I have 16 bottles of quality white and the same of red which I didnt know I had. I also found three half drunk bottles of Jack Danials which I have sorted in to order of amount left , loads of small half bottles of Vodka and gin. A bottle of southern comfort I keep for emergancy party invites but never use. I also have several bottles of lime/tonic water and so on.
So my tip is to do an audit of your drinks cupboard. I was all set to blow 50 -80 quid on spirit and mixers this coming week , but will bung it in the personal present bank instead.
Also , how long does amarula last. I have a bottle half empty and wonder if its safe to drink. Its been kept cold and tastes alright.

When and where's the party? ;D
Good tips: that way you won't be throwing away a 3 year out of date packet of cornflour.
And another is not to delegate looking for the bottle of tomato sauce you KNOW you've got to a male. He just won't see it, you'll buy another, and hey presto, as you put it away there'll already be a bottle there.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
LOL - that is so true....how many duplicates food items have I got - and how long will it take me to learn....
As for the amarula - if it tastes ok, it's fine
I don't know how long it really lasts for but we are currently drinking one that I know has been open for sometime +/- a year....0
