i am qualified but regardless of my qualifications or anybody else's on here, nobody is allowed to advise here and that includes Martin Lewis, who can't advise at all on or off here as he is neither qualified or authorised to do so..........

I think we can all learn from each other by the questions we ask.
NR togethers are a max of 95% secured & the remainder unsecured .........not 125% mortgage
From my ignorant standpoint it seems an easy task to convert unsecured debt into secured debt via a charging order.

My ignorance may or may not apply to Scotland as well as Northern Ireand, as they have a different legal system.

95% maximum secured was what was allowed by NR.........also secured borrowing is higher risk than unsecured........the meaning of secured v unsecured is the same wherever you are in the uk........however i'm not quite sure what point yr trying to make, if yr suggesting NR was offering 125% secured this is incorrect

If charging orders are to be granted, by the courts, then perhaps unsecured debt has the same or very similar risk as secured debt!

secured lending is secured on yr property
unsecured lending is not, ie personal loan

    I agree with your sentiments.
secured lending is secured on yr property
unsecured lending is not, ie personal loan
The status of these loans can be overturned by the courts.

I dont know where yr going with this as it started off with me explaining a together mortgage
u say the status of these loans can be overturned
well for this to happen they would have to have defaulted
a charging order can be placed on anyone who has defaulted on personal borrowing with our without a together mortgage

Perhaps it should be made public knowledge to all borrowers that your home may be at risk if you do not manage to keep up the repayment on all your debts.

But are we in such a nanny state we have to remind people who have signed agreements they have to pay back what they borrow. Is this not plain common sense.

    You are always right.
It would be stupid for anyone to doubt your advice.
