No problem getting mine tonight about 7.00 ish. I wondered if I might have an arguement with going in later in the day but the guy that served me just laughed and said that will be a 1p please.0

Collected at store no problem at Wednesbury this morning, the member of staff who found them for me was a bit bemused. They had 8 in stock at the time, same price in store, so I bought the lot. :eek:0

No more 1p items on the site now. Doubt there'll be any more, now the staff have caught on. (And why not? They've got to have some perks, I guess.)A penny saved is a penny gained0

From a confirmed hunter of several "great white bargains" at the dixons group, you might want to know something, which a helpful dixons manager once explained to me when i went round searching lots of stores trying to find a massive bargain I found but which did not actually exist (a £200 printer for £20)
anything priced at 1p is a promotional item, normally a free gift, or buy "this and this" for. for stock control purposes they can't just give things away, they have to put them through the till. the 1p price is for them to ring through "free" gifts and promotional items. if you are spending say 9.99 and there is a free gift for 1p, the receipt will show £10 but will still give you the 1p change, because it is easier for them to write off a few mistakes in the till than have a hundreds or thousands of items "dissapear" from their stock control
the item will actually have two store codes, one for the real price, say £20 and one for it at 1p.
obviously there is a mistake on their website and the item must be up under both codes.
I reckon if you picked it up off the shelf and took it to the till, it would probably ring through on its "normal" code, but what is happening is the "promotional" code is on the internet, so they ring that in instead.
Some of their staff are really dim and will just ring things trough, but if you do get into an argument with anyone with a brain instore, you might want to save your fight for another day.
its not that they are "on to it" with a stampede on , its just that some dixons staff as everbody knows dont have a clue
they are known as "sales droids" :rotfl:0 -

Sorry fifo not the case here - picked 3 off the shelf and they scanned at 1p... perfect little laptop mouse for me and my brother (and one spare)! [Manager then went and hid the rest in the stockroom, mumbling something about price obviously being wrong as they were labelled at £14.99!]The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

After keeping me waiting for about 10 minutes he came back with all three of them, and said in a slightly sarcastic tone "that's three pence please". I was so tempted to pay with a £20 note, but since the price of £14.99 was still stuck on the front of each of them, I gave him my loose change and left.
On the way out, I noticed a 5p on the floor, so I've been paid 2p to have 3 computer mouses! (or mice, depending on what you prefer!)0 -

Hey Beckton is the store i tried getting mine from first thing yesterday and they wouldn't sell it to me and when i was out the other half got a call from PCWorld saying the same thing.:rolleyes:Darren0 -
After getting myself one of these last week lots of friends and family want one too. So daughter while in PCWorld today rang me and said there were lots more of them on the shelf with £14.99 sticker. She took one to the till and they are still going through at 1p each so she got 5 for me to hand out. Still had about 10 left on the shelf.0
