Fed up of thinking 'for the photos!'

I am getting so fed up of having to keep asking WHY??? (please ignore just a rant!)
The wedding is now just 4 and a half month away so I am now being faced with a wall of questions to which I can only keep asking why???
I am having a very low key, very informal wedding abroad just a small gathering of mostly family and a few friends.
I am not getting stressed so why is everyone else!!
I am not having a colour scheme or anything fancy like that but I keep getting asked my MiL2B what colour to get her clothes and Fil2B's clothes. I ask why on earth would it matter - answer 'for the photos'
Same with flowers why on earth do all the men have to have button holes? At £10 a pop I really would rather they did not have them. But when I ask why they need them I get told 'for the photos'
Expensive table decorations, place names, table flowers - again I ask why - answer 'for the photos!'
Why do people keep trying to make me blow my tiny budget just for the sake 'of the photos?' I feel like everyone is getting carried away with this appart from me and H2B and we are the people who are paying!

at least you are remembering the important thing... not to get carried away with what everyone else wants,
when you get the 'for the photos' answer tell people that your not that bothered if the photos show expensive flowers, or matching menus and tablecloths, your more interested in the happy and stress free bride and groom who will NOT be smiling if they dont get the kind of day they want!
your paying, you do it your way... we are.0 -
I like Curious George's answer, that sums it up doesn't it? Just try really hard to rise above it and remember that when the day comes it will be fantastic. Unfortunately that's dead easy for me to write and probably a lot less easy for you to do when it comes to listening to this.
We've been saying that if we had the sort of money the average wedding costs we'd still have the same day and use the rest for a house deposit.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

stick to what you want to do. We ended up giving in last time and nearly split up over it, so here we are planning another wedding and sticking to our guns, no uncomfortable speeches, no first dance, no expensive drinks lists and it = a happy bride and groom.
for what its worth, oh is the only one with a button holeDebt free wannabe

I almost want to dare you to tell the MIL2B that you want here and her husband in fluorescent orange - and when she asks why just smile and say for the photos!!0

I don't see the need for unneccesary expense. Have your day your way. My mum wasn't happy when I said we weren't having bridesmaids/best man/ushers etc, but I just want a simple day. No long speeches, faffing about etc. I am having it my way, and it will save a fortune, hehe.
But things don't have to be that expensive - I have got heather/thistle buttonholes for the men at my wedding, and 12 of them only cost me about £10 because I made them all myself.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Next time anyone says 'for the photos' just say...."Photos? What photos? We aren't having any" :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
