Thinking about childminding for additional income

Options
I'm thinking of advertising child minding for additional income, I have a recent CRB run on me as part of my volunteering for the guides, and I have two young nephews who i see regularly but apart from that I have no experience as I never babysat as a teenager. Do you think anyone would be interested in me babysitting for them? I'm 27 and live in London, I think the fact that I am English may count in my favour as alot of people advertising their services talk about their excellent English language skills.

Has anyone taken on babysitting to add to their income?

  • There is a difference between occasional baby sitting and child minding in your own home

oh, I meant going to someone's house and baby sitting, for a few hours, whilst they went out for the evening.

  • My daughter 21 does a lot of babysitting. She gets good money as well. They usually feed her and get her a dvd or let her get a sky movie. She is using their heating as well. Generally gets around £15-25 occasionally does overnight for £35. Has done a wedding and they even paid for her to have an outfit!

Just takes time to get yourself known. The other thing that seems popular at the mo in our area is pet sitting. Maybe all day at the weekend or an evening for nervous/separation anxiety affected dogs.

Thanks, I switch between feeling super confident that i can handle it to worrying about the consequences if something goes catastrophic.
