Hi - I spoke to Abbey yesterday and the adviser said they would announce their new SVR at the end of this month. He also said that is when they would announce new mortgage rates.
After the last BOE rate cut, it took Abbey about 2 weeks to adjust their SVR downwards, I wonder if it will be the same when rates go up?

I was speaking to Abbey on Friday as my deal is about to end. They said their SVR will be coming down to 4.69% on 2nd February.0

Thats only .25% of the last 0.5% BOE rate fall.
and its taken them a month to decide on it!0 -
Banks earning more money isn't necessarily a bad thing at the moment though, and it's better than nothing! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

So that's all right then, you don't mind your bank taking more money because they are struggling?
But please note that Abbey, being owned by Santander group are not struggling - probably because of the extra money they get for sitting on rate reductions.
Now then, in about 2½ years time when interest rates go up and Abbey, like most of the other banks, whacks the rate straight up (none of this month long wait while their rate committee ponders their navels) you will not be complaining?

This is great thanks, the bumf at the the end mentions the Flexible tracker mortgage but there is no rates for this in the list, is this going to reappear in the future?
