I went into Maplins in Inverness yesterday to get an 12v - 240v Invertor.

300w showing at £39.99

600w shelf price and scaned at £29.99 !! :-)

On the website it still shows at the original price of £69.99 !

Great Price but I'm sure many of us would be asking.

A good price for this - if you need one.

But is now showing on line as discontinued with a 'B grade' version priced at
    £49.99 "While Stocks Last"

    Be careful with 600W!
If you plug it in to the lighter socket and attach a 600W device it will try to draw 50A (600W = 50A x 12V) through that circuit. It will then either blow a fuse or melt some wiring.
Fine to use via clips directly from the battery (but not for long).
    Can I help?

You can find which stores have stock using the following URL:

Though TBH most people would be better off with a 150W cheaper invertor if needed for electronic devices. Or better still find an appropriate DC charger that works directly off the auto socket without the wasteful DC -> AC -> DC conversion.
