I have to stick to one washing powder brand due to skin rashes with others so I can sympathise.
On a green point. Don't waste the box of powder, keep it and maybe use for things like washing curtains, teatowels, guest bedding (if your concience will allow) and other household cleaning.0 -
I am allergic to a couple of the big brands (itchy and bumpy skin when staying with family) but fine with Asda's biodegradable version.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My partner has very sensitive skin and could only use detergents that were made specifically for sensitive skin, we tried a few of the main brand 'eco' detergents and they did irritate her skin.
Not wanting to be put off doing something for the environment we had a look around and found that people were using 'eco-wash balls' and finding that they didn't cause any irritation. We've now been using these for a couple of years and although there are some cheaper versions available we have found the more expensive ones more durable and longer lasting, so more cost effective in the long run. A place we found with some good reviews and comparisons of the various types of 'eco-ball' available was - http://www.squidoo.com/eco_balls
and to the OP, you may be allergic, but instead of wasting the box, why not offer it on freecycle? I'm sure others would be happy to use it rather than having to throw it away.Do You Twitter?

Hi everyone, I have just read about what another poster had written about the eco balls for washing clothes instead of detergent. I went on a site called yourtomorrow, and I have placed an order for them. They cost £28.50p and I live in N/Ireland and postage is sometimes quite expensive when buying stuff online, but it only costs £2.50p so am pleased with that. I will let you know what I think of them, after use. It said you don't need to use fabric softener either, and I would have a lot of washing per week, so it can work out quite dear. I am happy with the comments made on this from other posters. It will work out to be quite a saving for the family. I am just almost finished my big box of washing powder here and fabric softener today so will hold on until the package arrives:)Do a little kindness every day.;)0

Bio D washing powder is amazing! Never had any problems with it at all! Mot eco detergents that have fragrance still added are the usual problem with skin irritation. I do also have Eco Balls, they are great too, but I tend to used Bio D powder for whites! I have tried loads of eco brands but these are my favourites! Only thing with eco balls is you should always use the shortest cycle; not always great on grubby whites; hence the Bio D factor! I got both from https://www.earthlets.co.uk. Amazing range of cleaning products including dishwasher powder etc. Heavenly natural household cleaner there called Green Housekeeper (essentail house keeper)! It smells divine!

I've never used that particular one, but I am allergic to a lot of washing powders. I only ever use non-bio, and I usually stick to Aquados Simply Sensitive softtabs because my skin's fine with that.
Anything I've found I'm allergic to I've always just given to somebody else who doesn't have allergies, my friends are happy to get free stuff!.Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.
