Try https://www.pricerunner.co.uk and the other price comparison tools here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1085270194,52624, once you've found one you like.
No offence, but people aren't going to do all the dirty work for you.0 -

I would buy it from Costco, they are either the same price as other shops or a little bit expensive but they provide a free 3 year guarantee with all their TV systems and their customer service is brilliant. We bought a 32" TV about one and a half years ago, but recently it started skipping channels when we wanted to change channel. So we took it back and they didn't even check whether we where telling the truth and gave us the cash right there and then. Then we bought a 37" Toshiba LCD TV from then on the same day.0

if you are looking for a 42" tv then you will only be able to find a plasma. Sony offer a 40" LCD and that is the biggest available LCD. (LCDs are available from 10" - 40", Plasmas are available 37" - 65"+).
The key choice you need to make is whether you want a high definition tv. High definition is the future of TV with images up to 4 times as detailed as conventional TV(Broadcasting is selectively available on telewest now, will soon (around march) be available on ntl), on sky via a Sky+ HD box (from april or may), and without any subscription, from june). Buying a high definition (HD ready) TV ensures that your TV will be 'future proof' with 16:9 widescreen, a HDMI slot (HDMI will gradually phase out scarts once HD broadcasting begins), Q-Link (allowing you to tape programs with ease using a sky+ style interface through a compatible HDD or DVD recorder) and a 1366x768 resolution or higher providing the best picture quality available. HD tvs tend to be more expensive than SD (standard definition) TVs however an HD TV will prove a much more worthwhile investment.
A great 42" HD TV is the panasonic TH42PV500 available in three options:
TH42PV500CAB - with cabinet
TH42PV500PED - With pedestal
TH42PV500WAL - With wall mounting kit
The TH42PV500 features built in freeview, a card slot (for top-up tv etc), an SD memory card (often found in digital cameras) for directly viewing media from a digital camera, etc.
For full specs see
http://shop.panasonic.co.uk/invt/th42pv500ped&temp=extendedspec&layout=empty
This TVs RRP is quite expensive at:
WAL model - £2593.99
PED model - £2643.99
CAB model - £2993.99
but it can be found for much cheaper such as £1977 delivered on 121electrical (source: pricerunner)
(The non-HD version of this TV sells for £1229)0 -
freemans catalouge give a 20% discount for first order and they sell a very nice 42" toshiba lcd idtv which is hd ready for 1899.99 less 20% discount for first order and you earn 10% commission on balance.0
