Sent my letters last week, Update

I posted earlier this month that I had been advised to go BR but it turned out to be a little complicated due to bank owing me money ( in dispute ) and the fact I live in Scotland. Well last week I sent off letters to everyone I owe money to and asked if they would consider writing it off in light of my age which is 70 ( next week ) and only having my pension to live on.
So far I haven't actually heard anything back, they are probably still laughing !
The phone calls are still coming though, usually I don't answer them but I did a couple of times today to see what they said, still chasing me for money,I told one girl that I had written to them and would not speak to her on the phone, she said " you will still get the calls " so I said " fine,I just wont answer them" and put the phone down on her ! Phone hasn't stopped ringing since before Xmas.
I opened new bank account with Co-op Cashminder and was unable to transfer my DDs from Abbey, they are going to send me a form to sign so they can do it for me.
Can't pay for car repair yet, hoping to do it next week,if I have to sell car at least it will be running ! I feel quite strange after doing these things as for the last 2 years I have scrimped and scraped to pay everyone and all my savings ( not a lot) have now gone. I even had to sort out my gas and electric before Xmas as they were going to cut me off, I now have an arrangement to pay it. It's a quarter of my monthly income! I was so pleased to talk to people on here about my problems over Xmas and New Year as I live alone and didn't see a soul for about 2 weeks !
Hopefully this year will be better for me BR or no BR.
Apparently there is something called Lila which I can do but will see what comeback I get from my letters (templates from National Debt Line ) Maybe they will make me BR and save me the expense !
I will let you know what transpires.
Cheers.........Shirley

Good luck Shirley but don't be surprised if they just ignore your letter. If you had written to them to say you only wish for them to correspond in writing (no phone calls) they would have to stop phoning so that creditor was wrong. That is the letter I'd be getting out to them pronto if you haven't already. There is a template on here somewhere I think.

The phone calls have slackened off a bit today, let's face it if I don't answer them they will get the message eventually !
Only about 4 calls today in all, ignored them again !
Thinking about it, in a sense I suppose I have put the ball back in their court by saying the Abbey wont pay me so I wont pay them ! Be interesting to see what they do now ? I still think I will finish up BR but don't care now as fed up with thinking about it all !0 -
My phone calls never stopped and I waited 11 months from stopping paying until I went BR. I stopped answering the phone but the calls never stopped.

I have already decided I wont answer the phone when it rings, it went mad over Xmas and New Year,do they get a commission on any money they get from these calls ?0
