Had a friend who got married last year and who unfortunately had a wedding list with WrapIt, they got their wedding insurance with Marks & Spencers if i remember correctly who she said where fantastic to deal with and they managed to get a cheque from them for the cost of all of the presents that were bought from Wrapit which they didn't get (basically all of it).
She highly recommended them and she actually had to claim back from them as well, might be worth having a look anyway.0 -
we had our insurance with m&s, and we could not fault them, i cant remember how much we paid but i thin it was around £75 mark.

hi does anyone know if you can take out wedding insurance after you have paid deposit for things. daughter has booked the reception for 2010 and now with things as they are we think insurance may be a good idea as deposit was paid in cash any thing else we book will be on credit card .

Umm I think that longhill was wondering if you had ot have the insurance before you book anything, a bit like if you are already ill you won't be covered kinda thing? I can see where they are coming from.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I can see their point too, however when I was looking for wedding insurance recently one of the websites (think it was M&S) stated that you should try not to get your wedding insurance more than 2 years before your wedding as details can change so much in that time. I'm not quite sure when the best time is but I would say definately before you start paying things off in full, especially with the current climate and how it is affecting small businesses.
Finally decided to start growing up when it comes to money!:j

I can too, sort of, that's why I said yes. But you don't HAVE to have wedding insurance at all, and there's not a lot of chance of claiming for something you haven't already paid for. That's the point of indemnity. The question didn't make a great deal of sense. It's borne from scaremongering.Umm I think that longhill was wondering if you had to have the insurance before you book anything, a bit like if you are already ill you won't be covered kinda thing?
