13 Hours

Ok I have 13 hours until I appear in court with my Husband to file for Bankruptcy. I never thought it was something I would have to do at age 27 but there you go. At least I have learnt my lesson young and am happy to start again!! The reason for our BR was a number of factors that included having 2 children very close together, rise in fuel and living costs and rise in interest rates. Robbing peter to pay paul is about right! So we have filled out both forms, spent about 4 hours hand feeding paper into our ancient printer, and are nearly ready. I have to amend my form in pen, should I do this in the relevant section or put a note and do it on the spare sheets? Don't suppose it matters. Thank you all for your advice and support, Wish me luck

Hi Vicki,
Firstly, good luck for tomorow. I went today and it was fine - honestly....
If you do need to amend your forms by hand, make it as clear as possible, obviously if it is a small thing, do it in the relevant box but if not, put it at the end.
Initial against any changes that you make.
Tomorrow when they check your forms they will possibly amend them again if there are any mistakes. Both the clerk and you will initial them then.

Thank you, the bit I need to ammend is on the outgoings section. I put 0 under other essential outgoings then put haircut, tv, medical and child expenses in the box at the bottom. I blame the forms0

best wishes vicki! Your story reads virtually identical to mine I have to say - i have 14 months gap between my two little ones and all of the above applies too!
best wishes for tomorrow!BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Tomorrow will be a doddle - honestly. In fact, I'd say my court date was a bit of an anticlimax!0

So they are all listed in the right place - it is just that you haven't totalled them up as other essential outgoings, is that right?
Have you put individual amounts by the side of the things in the box?
If you have, just total them up and enter them as one amount as essential outgoings and initial by the side.

I know what you mean about an anticlimax, i feel like tommorow should be a monumental occasion but its just another day! (actually is father in laws birthday so I will never forget the date)
My children are 21 months apart but not really planned that way
They will be glad when mummy can play with them again instead of sitting at computer.0 -
Hi SA
yes that is right. I put the amounts next to each thing but the form added up the total before these items. I will do as you suggested and if the clerk has a problem I will explain.0 -

Yep,
You need to have the totals correct as this is the info that the OR will be working on after your BR.
Definitely amend the figures so that they are right, like you say you can do the explaining tomorrow if neccessary.

Good luck, you will be fine. It is not an easy ride and I am nowhere near the end, but I would rather be where I a now, br, than back juggling bills and not having enough money to buy food. Let us all know how you get on.0

Good luck Vicki. I'm 27 too with two children. The way I see it is fair enough we messed up young but at 33 we'll have clean credit files and will hopefully fingers crossed be able to get a mortgage and home of our own in the future. Hope it goes ok - let us know xxI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!
