Asda free range eggs

I was in my local Asda just now and noticed some eggs that were £2 for 15 - free range and mixed sizes. Not sure how good a deal that is. I know you can get caged hen eggs cheaper but the price certainly seemed a fair bit cheaper than the other free range eggs instore. They were well away from the other eggs in a special promo display. They were in those see through plastic egg boxes.
I know it's hardly bargain of the century but looks like a reasonable saving. I suppose it depends how fussed you are about buying free range too. I only buy that sort of egg myself.
On the down side, Asda Jaffa Cakes are now 40p. They were 30p two weeks ago. Still a lot cheaper than other brands though.

I've bought them on & off for a while- they are eggcelent value (sorry) but hard to come by. Saw the same deal in Sainsbury's today too.

However- we have a "best one" village store in the next village. They sell 6 local, free range eggs for £1. They knock the supermarket eggs out of the water for freshness!

Having said that- our coop arrived this afternoon!:T

i brought these at weekend and we normally buy the respect free range eggs at £2.75 for a dozen or we buy organic ones from abel and cole at £1.99 for half dozen so these were a great deal at £2 for 15, ours were stacked opposite the value pack of 15 which were £1.50 which was a good to show people that for an ectra 50p they could buy free range. we ended up having omellettes for dinner last night as with 2 of us 15 eggs would last a long time.

Good thing about free range eggs is they cost more, you buy less, you don't eat too many eggs so your cholesterol doesn't get out of control.

That site seems slightly biased. They talk about heart disease a lot but not cholesterol.
