Got an interview next week for a job as an appointment maker for a trade association.
Anyone ever done this, what qualities do you need and has anyone done this job-what is it like?

I've done this. It's telephone cold or warm calling from lists of people to ask them if they want to join the organisation.
You need persistence and resilience. If one says "no", don't let it get you down because most will say "no". You're only interested in those that say "yes"
At the interview, ask them what their conversion rate is - the conversion rate is "how many calls will I have to make on average in order to get a YES?"
Some jobs literally only need 1-2 YES responses per day. Others will be expecting a YES 3x per hour.
Ask if you can see where the job is being done, the actual workstations they're calling from.
Is it an automated system where the system dials the numbers for you, or will you be using a regular phone and dialling by hand.
The questions at least make it look like you know what the job's about.0 -
