Toyota sewing machines, any good?

Trying to peruade OH that I really really need a new sewing machine. Currently have very old singer that takes so long to set up and get tension right that I can't be bothered with it. ( OH "but would you use a new one ? You never use this one")
Have seen some toyota machines in Kays catalogue, Has anyone any experience with this make? are they reliable / easy to use. Think I currently have a discount voucher to use with Kays. So am very tempted. It's that or have old machine serviced but dont want to throw good money after bad.
