No car or pets... had put 'contingency' to cover things like haircuts, birthday presents, etc. Seems ridiculous to allow for holidays (a luxury surely?!) and not an emergency fund.0

Hi I know what you mean, an emergency allowance in case an appliance breaks down would be more sensible to my mind but they let you have a holiday! definitely put it on there anyway and list haircuts separately.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

Hi dalip,
There are 3 of us in the household, me, my partner and my 5 month old daughter. My OH is not BR and I want to keep him out of the proceedings as much as possible as I incurred the debts before we met. When my maternity pay finishes (could, in theory go on 'til the end of March), I will be looking to work 2 days per week, possibly 3 if the work is available.0 -

So i work that out as £90.24 surplus less CB of £81.46= surplus for IPA=£8.78
I have altered some things as you have to eat but you don't have to have new clothes every month or spend hours on the phone .lol You are on a fairly tight budget anyway. I am not sure if the OR actually asks that partners contribute more or not. Cheers, will tweak it a little now. I only put clothes as high as it is because many people on here suggested that my original sum of £10-£15 was too small and kept encouraging me to up it. That said, the baby is growing at a pretty fast rate... suppose if I up housekeeping we can always spend some of the money in the weeks where we don't need laundry stuff on clothes. The phone bill is for mobile (which I need for work) and land-line, does that make a difference? Most of that is line rental not yackking!0
