With regards to Asian, there are 2 excellent Chinese supermarkets in Glasgow. My favourite one is SeeWoo (google for address, it's a short hop from the M8). The other one is Chinatown Groceries, only ever been to their restaurant (a few times, always excellent), again quite close to the M8.

It's called Matthews foods. Its huge and has a great selection at typical prices. Upstairs is a chinese restaurant that claims to "specialise" in Dim Sum.. the reason they specialise in it, I don't doubt, is because they sell a LOT of frozen dumplings downstairs - easily the best selection I've found around.

They also have a decent-sized carpark that is readily accessible. SO if you're out that way anyway or live nearby, this is a great option for you :)

I read about that place the other day on this blog: http://edinburghfoody.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/edinburghs-best-kept-secret-matthews-foods/

Sounds great, will take the bus out there for a look especially as they stock indian and thai ingredients as well.

It's a newly opened Chinese supermarket (or food store) in Newington Edinburgh, sell food products, ingredients, fresh fruits and vegetables sourced in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Southeast Asia. It has a simple webpage: https://www.huaxing.co.uk, it said staff can offer advice on Chinese cooking recipes.

Anybody know of any Asian foodstores in the Falkirk/Stirling area where Thai ingredients could be bought?
