Jessops free pictures

Following Martin's note on this week's email about the free pictures, me, my Mum and my Grandad all took advantage of the offer. Unfortunately, on picking them up today, a lot of the photos cannot be used. Every photo has lot some of the picture from all 4 sides and on some of them the loss is so severe that people hve noses and mouths but no eyes and foreheads, noses and mouths but no chins. It is as though someone has clicked on zoom and then printed. I have checked them with the photos when they are on the camera screen and on my laptop and this chopping does not occur on those, so it is not my photos that are the problem, but the printing process.
Does anybody have any idea what exactly has been done here and what my rights are? I'd like to go in to the store, show the photos and take my memory stick so they can compare the originals and the prints for themselves. I would also like for the whole lot to be reprinted but how likely is this based on the fact that they were free?
Any advice/comments/thoughts gratefully received.
Thank you

You get what you pay for.
What do you want for free? As for rights, I doubt that you have any considering that you are not actually out of pocket. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
i think you should tell them so they are aware there is a problem.
might have happened to a paying customer and they didnt know about it?
they may even re print them for free for you..♥ Blogger at Victoria's Vintage Blog ♥0 -

As I said, this was recommended by Martin. He would not put his name to something if he thought it were a waste of time/not up to standard.
When a company chooses to advertise something I believe they should carry out what they advertise. That is to say that as Jessops chose to undertake this for free they should complete it in the same manner as their paid business. After all, they have presumably advertised this in the hope of attracting business from the same people in the future. I'm guessing that it was not an exercise designed to show off the poor quality of their printing work.0 -
My free photo's didn't turn up at Jessops ( I think it was an offer by Snapfish that I could collect for free at Jessops) I was told if I brought in details of the photos they would reprint them for me, within the hour, whilst I did other shopping. I think they will gladly reprint them, if there has obviously been some mistake.0

I have got free photos from Jessops an had no trouble at all. Delivery was really quick and the quality of the photos was really good.
Give them a quick e-mail and see what they say.:beer:0 -
Did you not question it at the time? If so what did they say?0

I just got my free prints from jessops a couple of days ago and there was no problems at all with them. I'm sure if you give them a call or send an email they will reprint them for you.0

I didn't look at them until I got home0 -
It's because the apect ratio of the digital photo is slightly different to a 6x4 print so you lose a bit around the edge. If you download the windows software it shows you what you will lose. I assume it will also let you adjust it.
I've had the same problem with Boots in the past, but I just selected the ones I wanted re-printed and they did it in store.LBM : March 2008
