i wanna....electric timer

A room in my rented property has an electric plug in heater. To make the property more attractive i want to put a timer into the electrical socket and then the heater into the timer. So when the occupants wake, the heating in the room has already come on (aren't i thoughtful?!)

I have seen cheap ones in Morrissons for about 2 x £4. But these only seem to last 24 hours. I am looking for something like in your hot water/heating system, program it once and forget about it!

Any ideas?
