baby's forst birthday! any cheap ideas

hi, i have my daughters first birthday coming up in april and we want to have a party for her!
my budget is about £100, i can hire a hall for about £30 for 3 hours and we can make our own food, so what other things/games can we do for the kids?
there will be about ten kids from age 1 to 6.
i was thinking of an indoor bouncy castle!
anyone know any cheap places to hire from CH62?
they can play pass the parcel and musical chairs!
anyone have any other good ideas?
thanks

  • because the children are young, most little things would keep them entertained, so what you have said already about pass the parcel and musical chairs are good ideas.

  • How about trying a local sports centre, some of them have a soft play room you can hire. I did this for my daughters 4th birthday and it was 25 quid for the hire of the soft play which included a bouncy castle and a room beside it set up with tables for food. All the parents brought some food each, sausages, juice etc and we had lots of food left over. They were so excited they hardly ate anything and just wanted to play. We also had the usual party games after the food like pass the parcel and gave out party bags afterwards.

I'd definitely phone round some local sports centres and ask if any do a similiar thing to this. We did our party at the Time Capsule in Coatbridge. It wasn't a huge amount of money to spend!!

Its my daughters 1st birthday in a few weeks. Having done the big party thing with my eldest (and him crying the whole way through it as it was all too much), we're simply having our best friends and their children round for the afternoon (7 children in total ranging from 1 to 6). Will do a pass the parcel, but other than that they can all play in the playroom. Food wise, i'll be doing tea and cake and leaving it at that! I am doing small party bags (only because my sons have requested them).

Otherwise my best friends daughter was 1 a couple of weeks ago, they hired a hall (have quite a large family), did the usual 'birhday party food', pass the parcel, musical bumps/chairs/statues and had lots of balloons and a ball pond. There were about 12 children, ranging from babies up to nearly 6.
