I was in the Fire Brigade for 6 years and paid 11% of my salary into their pension fund which equated to approximately £15000. Can i recieve that money as a payment back to me?

Hi Scotty,
The simple answer is no. If you have more than two years pensionable service in a defined benefit scheme (such as a final salary scheme) then your benefits will be preserved within the scheme until your Normal Retirement Date (NRD).
You might be able to draw your pension benefits earlier than your NRD on the grounds of (i) ill-health or (ii) early payment, depending upon the Scheme Rules and any contractual obligation (Contract of Employment).
In April 2010, the earliest age people can start to draw their pension benefit increases to age 55, although some people who have 'a protected pension age' may still be able to access their pension earlier - but these people will be very much in the minority rather than the general population.

Have not a clue about this, hope someone can advise.
it is rude to post an unrelated question on someone else's thread. It is known as threat hijacking. It is not fair on the OP as hijacks often take over the thread leaving the OP without an answer.
I will answer your questions but if you want more info I suggest you start your own thread.Should I stay contacted out of the S2P, or go back in?
You cannot contract back in. Your occupational scheme does not give you the choice.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
