laptop hp or acer blueray for less than £500

am looking to buy a laptop and have seen these.

HP G70-120EA for £469 at pcworld

or

Acer Aspire 5920G Laptop for £490 at laptopsdirect

are the specs of these laptops good for the prices or are there better offers from other manufacturers.

i dont actually need a blueray laptop but i thought the specs were good for the price and the blueray was just added gravy.

    Hubby bought me this Toshiba laptop for Christmas from John Lewis.
    Was advised by the technician, who he knows, that works on all the laptops that get returned, not to touch Acer, as they are the ones that get returned the most!!!
    When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!

    We bought this a few days ago from Currys - very pleased with it, seems faster than our proper puter !
    Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift - the present. ;)
