Looking for cat/kitten - Ayrshire area??

Options
I live in the Ayrshire area and I am looking for a cat/kitten for my mums birthday. Our cat died a few years ago and she has finally decided she would like another one and its her birthday at the end of January so I cant think of a better present.

I know some people advertise kittens free to good home so if anyone knows of any could you please let me know.

Thanks in advance:D

north ayrshire cats protection has a couple of young cats up for adoption

(south ayreshire 9ne only seems to have older ones at the moment)
if you adopt via them they will check out your house and you know it will have been checked by a vet before it comes to you.

my dd adopted a kitten from a woman who didn't really care for her cat and just let it run wild and breed- the kittens acted ferral, it had worms and fleas that could have been life threatening... so really false economy to adopt that way.
  • Hello masonsmum,

You could also try the SSPCA http://www.scottishspca.org/

again, they would have been checked out before they released them.
  • Hello again,

Sorry - just had another thought - sometimes vets know of litters that people want to home.
  • I phoned local vet and they gave me two telephone numbers to try and i got a kitten from a farm for my daughter.Hope this helps

WE got our cat last year from RSPC it was vaccinated too
  • i am hoping to get a kitten (still trying to convince hubby!:rotfl: )
the kids are doing well are wrapping him round their fingers! so hopefully shouldnt be much longer, his main concern is the expense of jags and cattery's while we are on holiday,,,, is it terribly expensive?? and where is best to look, i've checked out cats protection website, but how long do they take to do checks etc then to actually get kitty/cat home??
    thanks!
