Today MBNA have really riled me so I bought a chocolate bar 75p, trying to think of a way of making them pay for it!

Write a letter of complaint asking for compensation for "distress and inconvenience". Having to buy your own chocolate is pretty distressing I always find :D

Another NSD here - I have hit my target for January!

Any money I don't spend I am going to use on Saturday when I go to the theatre with work. I keep telling them I can't spend more than a tenner when we go for lunch, and they have booked us in at a place where a pasta dish is £8+. By the time you add on a drink (Even if it's a coke) and a tip, I will be looking more at £12-£15. It's not a big difference, but I am trying to live within my budget for the first time in months if not years, and it will really upset me if I go over budget for a lunch.

Oh dear. I was bored, so quickly nipped to Sainsburys. I ended up spending £9.83 on mainly non essentials. I only intended to get bread, juice and cat food

Oh well, looks like I'll be staying in for the rest of the week!
    Looking forward to the future.
  • Last week went horrendously and havent kept a list for the last few days as my life has been turned upside down. However I would like to aim for £15 for the rest of the week.
Sazzledazzle you can tell you are a PADer with your big bold amounts! :rotfl:
You have been added to the list on the first page.

Not so good for me again today I got lunch out again today as I was at the library all day today trying to pretend I am a proper student before having to go back to work next week. So that was £5.50 that leaves me the grand sum of 97p until Friday it is not looking good :o

I think I might have to write this week off due to exam stress and try really hard next week to try and get some NSDs in.

F_F think I need to take a leaf out of your book seems like you are intent on sticking to your budget which can only be a good thing.

Had my first NSD yesterday since I signed up to the MSE forum :j So I have £19.27 left for the week, but if I have to buy any groceries this has to come out of my budget too. I know in general people don't put grocery shopping in this thread, but because I'm a newbie I didn't realise, so I'll do it properly next week lol.:p

Well done Ladymay :TI love NSDs they feel like you are making so much progress especially if you can get a few in a week.

As for the groceries if you find it helps you keep on track then include them, you need to make the rules so they suit you. As long as they mean a decrease in spending then it can't be bad.

    Hello pointypenguin,

please may I join your challenge ? Last year I used the online spending diary but have now realised that it doesnt really work for me. I didnt join this week as had to pay out for DDs recorder club & brownies  but will start from next week please :D .

I am going to include groceries in my weekly spends as that is something I definitely need to reduce :o but havent yet worked out how much I pledge to spend next week so will update in a couple of days.

    thanks

Welcome Lula-Hula  just pick a number and pledge it. It is worth just seeing how the first week goes and adjust it after that is it is too low or high. As for recorder club and bronwies if these are regular expenses you can just exclude them from this challenge. Look forward to you joining us next week :D

After my exam today I ended up going to the union with a few people for a drink and to dissect the exam so I spent £2 :o Oh well I will try and keep it as low as possible for the rest of the week and get back on the wagon next week.

I'm declaring £13.45 on things I don't need but which were very cheap from Boots 75% sale :D

I did spend more than this, but those spends will come from my Christmas account, the £13.45 was just stuff to treat myself.

I'm going to come in on budget this week though, if it kills me...
  • NSD for me again today!! Went out for a meal with my friend and she paid! I did offer my half but I'll pay next time! And I forgot to do my lottery! Oops! Oh well!! Still on a lovely 0!!!!
    Just keep swimming
