Returning broken iron to Argos...Can't find receipt :(

Hi all!
Purchased an iron from Argos about 2-3 months ago, all going fine. I have disposed of the box etc. I normally keep hold of receipts but can't find this one anywhere!
The iron is still working except for the bit that sprays water. The steam shot button is still working though so I have been using it this week whilst looking for the receipt.
Does anyone know if I will be able to get an exchange without one?
I paid with gift vouchers that I won at work. The iron wasn't the one I wanted initially but it was on offer. I think I paid £20 and it was meant to be around £40 so not a cheap one.
Will they be able to track my order as I paid with vouchers? In my workplace, we have an electronic journal that keeps track of everything going through the tills and we are able to access these up to a year later I think.
Anyone know where I stand? Don't really want to make my way all the way there if it's not going to be replaced.
Thanks in advance.

Argos will replace even without a receipt i've done it many of times only problem you might have is not having the original packaging but tell them you have had it a couple of months now and you threw away the box they should still replace it.0

we had a jet washer from Argos, after a few uses over a 10month period it started to leak, so was therefore useless. All we wanted was a replacement hose. We took it back to the store, and after a lengthy debate with the manager [who was not very helpful at all] after we found out that they had stopped making that particular model, he did eventually change it. We had neither the box nor could we find the receipt! [typical]Keep your cool, be polite, smile a lot, and with a bit of luck they will either offer a repair [which I wouldn't accept,as if one thing goes I usually find another will] or an exchange. Be handy if it was an Argos brand iron - also it's not serving it's purpose, CAB or Office of fair trading will explain that to you, if you are unsure.0

I had the same problem a few months ago with a £50 iron I bought at another Argos store. I was given a gift card in lieu of cash as I didn't have the receipt.0

I took an iron back that I had had for a few weeks (wanting a replacement). I had no receipt, but it wasn't a problem.
I remembered the date & time I had originally bought it & the assistant found my transaction on the system ( not sure what would have happened if she would have failed to find it - but i did feel better that she did find it as it was a bit of proof that I had bought it there)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
Thanks all, feel a lot better now. Will pop in tomorrow and hopefully get a replacement.0

Another option
Buy the same iron then return the faulty one within the 28 day period....
Saying you wanna refund as if its gonna break that quickly dont bother
replacing it
Norty, but you bought it from there so not that norty0 -
I bought a Morphy Richards kettle from Argos about 6 months ago and the switch broke. Couldn't find the receipt, so I rang Morphy Richards - they're sending me a replacement kettle!
(In the meantime we're leaning a tape measure against the switch - completely forgot about it the other day and managed to boil the kettle dry - oops!)0
