im nearly 57 - what sort of term mortgage would i be offered?
i would prefer to pay it off in 5-7 years anyway, the money would be needed to bring a property i hope to buy up to standard.

Have you the income to pay the mortgage? If you have then the only obstacle would be that a lot of companies are not interested in smaller amounts.

Most high street lenders will only give you a mortgage up until your retirement age, however there are companies like Kensington which do not take age into account.0
