Hi All
Please I have been refused a co op account. I'm not sure why has anyone had this problem?
They are not a creditor, I used my new address which isn't yet registered on the electoral register. Barclays is a creditor so I can't use them!!! What else can I do!! has anyone experienced this.
Am really worried

Hi CP,
It might be because you're not on the electoral register. You can appeal the decision if you want to and find out why they refused. They have been known to change their mind.
Barclays aren't so fussy if they're a creditor, it's only Co-op who absolutely won't have you. Do you owe Barclays bank or Barclaycard?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I owe Skycard which is Barclycard, and I have an overdreft with them of circa £2100.0

I had about £5000 on my Barclycard when I went BR. Barclays still gave me a cash card account. Its worth a try?0

Barclays are certainly worth a try. My ex oh owed them on a bank account and they still let him have a cash card account. However, I think they are upgrading the cards now to Visas so they are certainly worth a try.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Mortgage free since 2014

Definitely try Barclays. They do give you a visa debit card now so I am hoping I can use it to chip and pin.
I think the electrol roll was probably the problem. Appealing it may be worth a try.
Other than that have you got a member of the family who could open a basic account for you that you can trust?
Good luck.I cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!
