Supermarket savers!

I apologise if this has been written before.. but i recently had a brain wave whilst counting my pennies on a local shopping trip to a lovely filthy supermarket (sainsburys).
I decided that I always start in the fruits/fresh stuff isles.. start filling my trolley, go round, argue with partner, want to browse and 'look' at the fun stuff... etc etc.. get to the freezer aisle - cant be bothered.. go to checkout - pick up some last minute stuff.. hold breath and feel queazy when the lovely lady/gentleman tells me how much I pay.!!
Well I decided to do it all backwards! I started at the freezer section, bought all frozen stuff, deals etc (the fresh stuff I usually dont use/chuck away) serious bargains can be found at the back of the freezers.. go through essentials quickly like bread/beans/etc etc.. and then ignore fresh stuff coz have most of the stuff frozen anyway.. get too tired for the games and things and therefore back off from them.. fill the top of the trolley up with fruit and salad (makes me feel better at the checkout) and too tired to even look at the overly priced counter stuff!!
seriously.. this saves me a fortune - probably at least £20.00 from a usually £80.00 weekly visit!
So I dare you all to do it on your next shopping visit and tell me what you think :A

I like to do it that way, then I see what meat is the best value, and buy the veggies to go with it. I can also return the frozen stuff if I see a good deal on fresh ( doesn't usually happen)Loving the sunny days!0

I go in with a list- does anyone else still do that? then I know what the bill should be at the end- perfect if you only have a certain amount to spend per week- fully recommend it (LOL!)0

Yes .. I normally take a list with me ... 1 half will be my bills to pay + the other half is my shopping list, I do normally buy extra though... + I normally count the cost of what goes in my basket / on the conveyor belt before it's all been scanned.:j:hello:
