Do I need to do SA for 2007-08?

I started a business in February 2008, and registered it as an LLP in April 2008. I was sent a request to start filing tax returns in May, but presumably this is for April 08 - April 09.
The business has completed one contract, but this was paid for in installments. The first amount was paid in late February, the rest in July.
Do I need to complete SA for 2007-08 because I received money before April, even though the business wasn't registered until after the 2008-09 tax year started?
I'm really confused by all of this, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically if your tradad before 5 April 2008 you need to complete a tax return - did you actually receive a return ?0

No I haven't received anything, only a request to start completing them for this year.0

I think that the fact you have not been issued with a 2007-08 Tax Return is an oversight by HMRC - because you missed the automatic selection for tax returns to be issued (which takes place in Febraury) your return issue required manual intervention to be issued.
I would contact HMRC and ask for one to be issued - don't worry about the 31 January deadline, it will not apply as HMRC failed to issue a return on time. You will have 3 months and 7 days from the date of issue to complete the return.0 -
I will contact them tomorrow, thanks for your help
