Homes Under The hammer Did anyone see?

Can't imagine why anyone should get upset. It's only innocent escapism.
Anyhow, that one was exceptional, they're mostly quite down to earth.0 -
Did anyone see the one this week with Naz and his 'business partner' that bought a house in Liverpool to add to their portfolio of 11 properties (including ones abroad in such as Morrocco)? He had a very interesting dress sense of white suit, white shirt, white shoes lest you forget!0

Reminded me of Miami Vice....:D0 -

Quite right m8. There seems to be an attitude on here by some, that anything to do with property is to be sneered at. As you say most of them on this program seem pretty normal. Some win some lose.
It's houses we are talking about here not heroin ;-)0 -

I couldn't wear something like that (the female version) as I know I'd get it dirty within 5 mins of putting it on - Sod's Law would certainly apply to me....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I have watched a few HUH and the program that follows with Kristian Digby, there has definitely been a change in that several of the participants ended up losing money. One chap in London with a development property had a valuation half way throught the development that was £200k less than his costs to date, at the end of the program they chose to focus on his rental return versus his mortgage costs and conveniently he was in profit. He had crammed loads of bedrooms into a victorian house with very little communal space so may struggle to rent them if there are other properties around.
It does seem that the producers have switched these programs to appeal to the HPC followers rather than the 'its me pension' crowd.0 -

Not much choice was there?
I find that Kristian guy hilarious - there's such an air of grim desperation about the programme. Who'd be a property show presenter now?0 -

I think I should be.
Generali: "!!!!!! were you thinking? Buying a place to flip given the fact that CDO sales were falling dramatically! It was always clear that bank reserves were going to come under pressure leading to reduced mortgage lending and thus house prices"
Punter: "Erm. Where's that nice Ms Beeny? She's got a lovely chest. You're just horrid...."0 -
It's all Beeny's fault anyway. (She's known as 'BoobyLady' in our house). She's spent series after series making dire predictions and awful warnings - 'You're taking a terrible risk!' 'I really don't recommend this course of action!' And yet, series after series, punters have gone on to reap huge wodges of cash from bungled properties. No wonder they stopped listening to anyone's dire predictions...
(I do like Beeny. Compared to the rest anyway...)0
