Rant

Hello all, I know it's not good to be negative.....but i need to have a rant. We all dont pay our creditors or at worst go BR because it's our last option...and we have nowhere to turn...so why is it when companies send letters chasing debts they put 090 numbers as their contact details or 0870 numbers, costing us even more money!!
Then yesterday I received a letter from my mortgage company for the property I would like to stay in notifying me they will be doing a revaluation as I have been made BR and at a charge of £65!!!!! Do they not realise I went BR because I have no spare cash????? Has anyone else had this happen to them? apparently when i rang them they said it is standard practice for IVA's and BR's, I informed them i have never defaulted on my mortgage with them and dont plan to start but it fell on deaf ears!!!
My building insurance have said that i prob wont be covered now, and my property is leasehold and a condition of the lease is that i have my buildings insurance through them, so how do i get around this??? The guy is looking into it and will get back to me, has anyone else had this problem?
sorry rant over, i'm just not having a very good day today!! xx

Ignore them, they need access for a proper valuation, dont let em in.

If life was simple everyone would do it0 -
No-one said life would be easy. They just promised you one hell of a ride!!!0

Thanks, I have wrote to the company previously to notify them yet they are still sending letters! I think I should just ingore them now?
I think i just have good days and bad days, and it seems i'm having a few bad days at the moment! but i do think it's also because its a depressing time of year but at least i'm debt free...yippee xx0 -
Ignore them. They can do nothing at all now, so why waste your time??0

Would it ever get to the point where they send baliffs round?0
-
If you are paying the mortgage then how can they send baliffs. You are keeping up with your payments. To get baliffs they need to go to court for non-payment and then you would have to default on any repayment plan the court set and they would have to go back to court for the judge to allow baliffs.
I am assuming they would let you put that charge on your mortgage to pay at the end.
Have a check on one of the other boards about the buildings insurance, it might be there is a loop hole to have to get it from one company only if you see what I mean.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
No. A bailiff can only be sent after a debt has been taken to court for a CCJ, and you have defaulted on that CCJ. A bailiff would be sent to enforce the CCJ eventually. Being BR, you cannot have any CCJ's on any debt prior to BR (with the usual exceptions of CSA/student loans etc).
They could, in theory, send a debt collector if they are still chasing the debts. But as very few of these are sent out when debts are actually owed, this is very highly unlikely to happen to a BR. If on the remote outside chance it does happen. Laugh in their face and tell them to eff off, then shut the door.
It is illegal for creditors to chase a BR for a debt and there are letter templates around to warn them of this. Its why a collector is highly unlikely to be sent.0 -
baillifs cant force entry though, you would have to let them in for them to gain entry (foot in the door jobbie)0
