They stopped drilling for a time, and when they started again realized that the oil had been replenished, all the oil that had been removed had returned. The oil source from the Mantle had replenished the field from below. There are numerous oil fields that have been replenished from below after a break in drilling.
i watched an interesting documentary about NS oil not to long ago, most of the talk was about reopening wells, but they were claiming improvments in technology meant they could go back and get the oil they had to leave behind, im sure figures of around 30-60% of the oil were said to have been left down their becaue they had never been able to get at it due to increased costs and poor technology.
it certainly raised my eyebrow, i wouldnt have given up that easily, and i certainly wouldnt have capped it and hoped some clever soul would have an idea of how we could get the rest one day.
but if i new i just needed to bide my time and it would fill back up....;)
i dont know if your right or wrong, but i like this idea, and i realy do hope their conspiring against us for profit. better than the ones about the meat grinder.:D
i dont fancy living thru the decline, never mind the aftermath.
and a job in the oil industry would be so nice right about now.0 -

Hmmm...not sure about this one me-thinks it is a wind up or conspiracy theorist gone mad.;)
Well, this is certainly not a wind up and asserting that I may be mad would be offensive, were I not in the full knowledge that your assertions about oil are 100% false.
Since you brought up the issue of conspiracy theory, I would suggest you read this, an interesting piece which may or may not get you thinking:beer:
