One of the problems of having a holiday home is pricing out of range of normal families.

    ...it has become too expensive.

As a single person I've been priced out for years because I would still have to pay the same rate as a couple/family because it's "per unit".

I have a similar thing...before we had two incomes to be able to go towards it, now there is only one amount coming in.

And I can no longer get away with having all 3 boys in one room......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm assuming you've tried the ones where you can approach the owners directly and then haggle? If they have it empty, I'm sure they'd rather have a tiny profit rather than no profit? I've done this in the past and always managed to get a few quid off.

Oh yes! They tend to be rather non moving on it.....I expect the problem is what I want to pay and what they expect to get, even with a reduction.

We haven't hired direct from a holiday site since 1992.

I am sure you would if they were getting no holiday otherwise, anyway they could pitch a tent outside!

Lol, it is more a question of size than not wanting to...they literally will not fit into a caravan bedroom together!

Eldest son keeps saying he will pitch a tent...the site says no.

Bedrooms? You're spoiling them. Let them sleep in sleeping bags on the caravan living room floor. Quite often they are intended to be slept in as the sofa parts convert. There are sofa-to-beds and table-area-to-beds types.

I remember one year we had this old caravan that literally had a 2' deep cupboard at one end as you went in the door. That was two bunks. The only access to the space was the 1'6" door, it was literally like sleeping on the shelves on the larder.

Yeah but I'm a snob! I like the peace and quiet in the evening when the kids go to bed and I can sit down with a nice glass of wine cup of tea and relax.

Actually, we have been looking at a 2 bedroom caravan for this year, eldest has said he will sleep in the front room and he will tie the boys bedroom door shut so they can't wake him up at stupid o clock by coming into the front room. :D

The other alternative is for youngest to sleep in my room...but that is rather a style cramper!
