Companies amaze me

Options
I am not suprised to see so many people struggling with debt what has happened to me recently just amazes me.

I already had the following

3k on cc1 (maxed)
13k on cc 2 (maxed)
20k loan
1k overdraft (maxed)
7.5k on amex cc (unused)

on top of an 89k mortage.

and halifax then turned round and agreed a further cc for 3.5k and when i went to transfer some of another card onto it as it was 0% i was asked is the 3.5k enough???

I am now in the process of cancelling all my cards and getting back on track thanks to this site but the halifax didnt know that at the time.

It just amazes me that companies will offer more credit to people who already have loads and loads.

Anyway just my little vent. I am happy they approved me as it helped me in getting out of debt.

I have finally acknowledged my debt.....

I couldn't agree more. I dont blame the ompanies for making vredit available but perhaps they should be more responsible in what they are lending.

I am up to my eyes in debt (now takling it with the help of payplan) but i still get companies suggesting consolodation loans and more credit it's unbelieveable.

I don't think they realise that credit for some (and i include myself in this) is like a drug its addictive the more you have the more you want. then the cold turkey kicks in and its reality time!

    Hi Phil
It's because they make the most money out of those who can only pay the minimum every month!
    They love us!!!!

My husband refuses to have a credit card, he thinks they are the product of Satan himself.
The banks can't stand this and he gets offers every week, it's like there's an alarm going off in some office every time they find a person without credit.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

but surely the compaines should have some respoibility to ensure that people dont get themselves into the situations so many find them selves in?

I guess on another note if they were tigher then they wouldnt make so much money / it would be harder to change cards maybe. So i guess there is good and bad.

I was also amazed to find out that many banks do not list loans etc on experian / equifax hense experian does not have your proper debt facts. In my case a 20k loan was missing and in my wife's 2 loans were not listed.

It's a werid world we live in :(
