I think I can see where the confusion lies -Sony do a "memory stick pro duo" (& maybe others) which actually looks like a memory card! I think its Sony's fault, there is nothing "stick-like" about it!!

USB memory sticks (or pen drives, flash drives, etc, etc) are actually stick-like but aren't technically a "memory stick" as this term is patented by Sony, apparently!! Seems a bit daft to me!!

Boots call the item a "USB Stick" - but whatever they call them, this one looks like a bargain to me!! :p

Knitnut is quite right, Memory stick is sony's trademark name for the memory cards it uses in cameras, mobile phones etc. There have been several incarnations of these starting appropriately with the memorystick, then came the pro, then the pro duo and lately the M2. these are usb sticks sometimes called flash drives and at this price are a real bargain and more useful than memory sticks as they fit more devices i.e. computers, some dvd player recorders and even some car radios

dont forget to thank the OP
  • My local Boots (quite small) didn't have these but ordered me one online. It was delivered to the store in 3 days with no delivery charge! Thanks OP

Managed to get one today. Thanks for the heads-up!
  • Thanks alot for this, the Boots in Lincoln High Street has them but they are marked up as £24.99, took it to the till and scanned through at £5. Bargain.
  • Ordered one online just there! Really just getting it for the usb stick itself. Great value for a sony 4gb, have paid that price for a 1gb cheap brand usb pen in the past :):):)
