winter fuel allowance

does any body know when we're extra heating allowance that Gordon Brown said we were getting in January I think its £60 each for a couple or £120 for a person living alone

    From reading around this site it seems some are starting to get it - my mum rang and they told her she would get hers next week - so hopefully everyone will get it in the next week or two.
    Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j

    My in-laws got their £25 cold weather payment into their account yesterday but no sign of the £120 yet.

    The 60 pound per person payment is nothing to do with the weather or fuel - it is an extra bit of Christmas bonus for pensioners and various others..

    Cold weather payments only go to those on pension credit or benefits when the temperature drops below a certain level for several days running.The money is paid automatically.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
