Put this in grabbit, rather than travel thread as it's only valid for departures tomorrow:

Austravel has flights to Sydney (or Perth) from £199 in time for Australia Day on 26 January. They are offering the flights - travelling out tomorrow (23 Jan) and returning a week later. http://www.austravel.com/perth

+ £30 fuel surcharges each way. Travel is on a charter flight, so prob not much room and no seat back TV etc, but very very cheap!

I'm not sure the prices on the booking form are available.
There is no 7-day return option on the drop down menu so you would have to call them. Plus on their front page they state 'Sydney from £539 return' with Thomsonfly and Royal Brunei (stopovers in Brunei and Dubai) departing 23 or 30 January.

Thanks for pointing out the electronic visa scheme though; I've not used that before!

I think the flights might be with Thomsonfly (formerly Britannia), on a B767 which requires one if not two stops en-route. Would there really be any point in going for seven days?!
