Holiday entitlement

Hi guys ,
ive been with my present company for 9 years and after 5 years i have earnt an extra 4 days hols with long service 1 day for every year after 5 .This is also stated in my contract.
However ive just had a meeting with a member of the commitee and they have told me that as times are hard they are taking away the extra holidays so ive gone from 29 to 25 days in one stroke Losing the 4 ive earnt.
Firstly can they do this and secondly can they suggest they may make redundancies if this is not accepted . Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They can do it if you agree. If you don't agree then they could impose it if they could prove it was absolutely necessary for the business.

Redundancy is where less work is required to be done. They are actually saying that more or an equal amount of works needs to be done. So no redundancy there.

If there was a pool of people to select from for redundancy and you were one of them, they could not use your assertion of your right to your contractual terms as a reason to select you for redundancy.
