I've been to one at Guildford Odeon before...keep your eyes peeled because it doesn't come up everytime but it does occasionally!0 -
Hello..
I'm going to my first seefilmfirst preview tonight (Away We Go - 6.30pm, Haymarkert), and I was wondering what the deal was - are these screenings overbooked? If so, then in people's experiences, what time is it good to get there?
I'm absolutely certain that this has been discussed before, but I've gone through loads of pages, and done a few searches, and can't find an answer.0 -
Arrive by 6pm at the latest. Whilst our's are never full you don't wnat to end up with two single seats or on the front row.0

Julie & Julia

This latest film from American director Nora Ephron (‘When Harry Met Sally…’, ‘Sleepless in Seatle’) is an adaptation of the autobiographical book 'Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen' by author Julia Powell. It sees Amy Adams as an amateur chef who adopts chef Julia Child (played by Meryl Streep) as her cookery guru and duly keeps a blog of the results. And you can’t have a movie about Julia Child without food - and not just any food, but the savoury French cuisine that turned American palates away from tuna casseroles in the 1960s. Here are rich, bubbling crocks of winey beef bourguignon, mountainous heaps of chopped onions, trussed ducks and, most magnificently, a browned sole meunière that practically swims off the screen on a buttery tide.

if you go into the website each day has a theme and each theme shows several films. each films has a little clip / trailer with synopsis. i noticed some were shorts but other more than an hour. i thought the clips gave a good idea of what to expect.
it seems from the five or more i viewed that they were more documentary type films about people doing extreme sports on wild adventures. the clip about the woman jumping off cliffs for fun was hair-raising!
i really suggest watching a few clips so you have an idea what you will be letting yourself in for.0 -
