Left work early to go to a screening, only to be told that it was full.

    Can this happen?

I thought that you couldn't get tickets if the screening was full. I got mine over a week ago and got to the cinema 10 mins before the movie was due to start.

Ditto what Nazboy said... very funny film.
  • I saw Looking for Eric in Aberdeen Picture House on sunday- great film but not so great cinema. We arrived and were told to come back at 11am (upstairs is used as a church on a sunday morning and they weren't allowed to let non-church goers enter- fair enough). We then went up to the desk at 11am to be told all the tickets had gone, there were only 30 available and 26 people had turned up and we'd have to wait to see if the other 4 arrived- again, annoying as we had arrived 30 minutes earlier but fair enough no seats = no entrance. 5 minutes later were told we could go and the 250 seater screen had 60 people in it!!!! was fuming, we nearly walked away from a screen that was barely populated. I know Picturehouse, or at least our one, have started letting "Friends" (ie members) into free screenings as well as people who get tickets online and this is the first time I saw people flashing cards to get in instead of the line of us with our printed emails, but Friends had to book tickets in advance and I doubt 190 people just decided to lie-in instead.

used to love going to this particular cinema, feel a little let down now :(

They often oversubscribe tickets as alot of people with tickets decide not to turn up. They recommend to arrive 30 minutes early. The Hangover had so many codes listed for it and everybody so far who has been have commented the cinema was 90% full at least.

Hope you are able to find another screening for this.

That's awful, you should complain to your cinema.

Saw The Hangover last night, cinema was packed and with good reason- it was so funny! I am going to highly recommend it to my friends. I thought it was the funniest film I'd seen in ages!
