thinking about leaving the country, looking for advice.

    thanks for the advice. Renting the house out isn't really an option for several complicated reasons. It would take too long to explain now though. I wish they could just reposess the house, it would solve all my problems

    ugh - reminds me of my brother in law. He did this and they just kept sending the debts to various addresses on his credit file. It ended up with us because he's stupidly given our address for some insurance quote to see the difference (although OH still believes he tried to apply for credit here) :roll:

    I ended up having to deal with baliff threats when 30 weeks pregnant and it wasn't even for me. He ended up having to come home and face the music but his brother (my OH) still can't speak to him.

    Be careful - creditors get very ruthless when trying to find unpaid debts. Whilst you may not be financially linked to family members if you've ever lived there and had bank account they may start sending the letters there.

    Honestly I rather go bankrupt than upset my family.
