Quick question guys.
Started a new job Jan 5th, get paid the 21st of each month.
Do I on the 21st
a) get paid for 16days?
b) get paid for the full month?
c) not get paid until Feb 21st?
Thanks.

It's likely that you would get paid from 5th - 31st January on the 21st January .
However that's only my idea - each company is different. Ask your payroll department.0 -
Thanks Jem, would of asked them, but all sick with flu! Hope you are right re: 31st. fingers crossed.0

Dont forget to make sure you get your bank details in asap, as you are quite close to payday0

thanks everyone. I have given my new Company my bank details, but as HR are away this week, they will only get my P45 with my tax details on Mon. Is this likely to be a problem? Does it take long to process?0

You will probably be put on a BR code to begin with as they may not have long enough to process it. However it's possible that it will go through OK. If you pay too much tax this time you will get a rebate next month when they apply the correct code. Just keep an eye on things.0

Thanks Jem, whats a BR code?0

I'd expect to be paid on the 21st, but for the month 5th-31st.
However, companies have "pay cut off dates", all pay details have to be with the payroll dept by that date. So you have to ensure they have all your details by that date - and that your boss hasn't just put them in the Intray but they have reached the right person.
I have heard of people starting a job and not being paid for 7 weeks because they missed the first cut off date.0 -
thank you everyone.0
