halifax mortgage

hi i have arranged a mortgage through halifax and will be exchanging soon....i just wanted to know when will i have to make my first payment...in other words will they give me a one month break..by the way my payment will go out on 1st of every month

If your check the morgage offer ( advance offer paper work) it should be in there, mind you if its anything like mine its a clear as mud!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

I took my mortgage out with Halifax last Nov & my first payment was taken out 2 wks after.0

If you chose the 1st as your payment date and you complete on say the 25th, then you will pay 6 days interest but it can take 14 days to collect the money so you will always pay more the first month. They have to inform you before they take any money though.0

My chosen payment date is the 21st, they took the 1st payment, with interest, on the 2nd of the mth, & they didnt let be know beforehand. I did ring them & got an apology & they said that i shouldve been informed. Luckily i did have the money, to cover it, in the bank.0
